When we arrived here in Auckland in 2002, the rate was S$0.90 = NZ$1.
Kiwi $ had strengthened to as high S$1.20+ but is now just under S$1.
Good news to those who are looking to buy a house too.
Here is an excerpt from today's (11 Aug) NZ Herald:
"The value of our homes has slipped backwards for the first time in more than seven years.
New figures out today show house values fell 2.2 per cent in the year to July - the first national drop since the price dip of 1997-2001.
.... Auckland property values fell 3.6 per cent from a year ago"
7 Good Years & 7 Bad Years of Joseph? (Gen 41)(Not necessarily in literal 7 year cycle for us now though.
Except that the word "seven" appeared in the paper's report?)
